Get Introduced to Lebanese Delights with Little Sito's Brunch
Little Sito is a Lebanese restaurant located close to Christie Pits, down on Bloor West between Bloorcourt and Koreatown. They serve traditional Lebanese fare, including sharing platters for those who would like to try a variety of flavours.
The inside of Little Sito is quite cozy, making it easy to people-watch if you're so inclined. The dΓ©cor is a comfortingly eclectic blend of unfinished brick walls and chalkboard drawings. The large window, leading out onto Bloor St, was also appreciated for its people-watching and the fresh breeze on our faces as we ate our delicious brunch.
Fans of Maha's who don't like lines, or who don't live in the east end and want something closer to home, might appreciate the flavours present in Little Sito's brunch. (We certainly did!) We also appreciated the speedy service.
If you've read this blog before, you know well that we love halloumi (we fought over who would be allowed to order this dish, in fact).
Thankfully, I was not disappointed. I enjoyed the variety of flavours in this dish, from the salty halloumi to the crispy potatoes. I particularly enjoyed the zesty yogourt dressing on the poached eggs. The side salad was also very fresh, with a delicious lemon-y dressing that went well with the tangy arugula.
Overall: worth the argument we had
This was Little Sito's brunch special for the day, and hopefully they'll offer it again! I got the vegetarian version so that we could share it, but it was also possible to get it with meat for an extra couple of dollars. The flavours of the vegetables were well-blended, and I enjoyed scooping it onto the slices of pita provided on the side for us to share.
As a topping, the feta was extremely fresh and creamy--much better than anything you'd get at a grocery store. The halloumi I got on the side wasn't quite as good, though--at three dollars for one piece, it felt like a bit of a ripoff.
Overall: good, but not amazing
