19 Coffee-Themed Gifts for the Coffee Lover In Your Life
Throughout the pandemic, making coffee has been more than just a hobby for me: it’s become a morning ritual that helps me stay grounded and sane.
If there’s someone in your life who feels the same (or who’s always been a coffee addict), then why not get them a coffee-related present to make them feel special?
In this post, I’ve compiled some of my favourite products (or in some cases, things I’d want as a present) so you can treat the coffee lovers in your life too!
This guide is directed more towards people who are just getting into specialty coffee, or people who just love going to cafes, rather than those who are already coffee experts, but I think you’ll find an idea for a wide variety of tastes!
PS: some of the links included in this post are affiliate links, meaning that if you purchase a product from their site I will earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
1. A Monthly Subscription Or Some Great Beans So They Always Have Coffee
I’m starting with the simplest option: some straight-up coffee beans! Beanbundle allows you to discover new Canadian roasters every month, delivered straight to your door. It’s a gift that keeps on giving, since you’re never sure what you’re going to get — but you know it will be delicious!
(Plus: you can use the code TOBRUNCH10 to get 10% off your — or their — first month!)
If you prefer simply to get a few different kinds of coffee bean for them, check out What the Cup. They have a wide variety of specialty coffee beans for you to try from great Canadian roasters so that you can pick exactly the ones your coffee lover would like most!
2. A Milk Frother to Get Those Creamy Lattes
This sounds random but trust me… if you don’t have an espresso machine at home, having a milk frother makes a huge difference! Being able to froth up my milk when I make lattes makes me feel so fancy.
The one I’ve linked is the one I have. It’s only $9, so really, why NOT get this? It’s the perfect stocking stuffer and I promise it’ll make a world of difference to their morning coffee!
3. A Coffee Scrub to Keep Their Skin Soft
Coffee isn’t just for drinking… it’s for getting rid of that winter dry skin, too!
Plus, if you try out this coffee scrub from Simkha Biocosmetics… you’ll be supporting a Canadian, Black-owned business — what’s not to love? (Plus it’s vegan and cruelty-free — and you can get 10% off with the code 10PERCENT!)
(PS: if you’re shopping for a tea lover too, they also have a mint matcha body scrub. This one is actually my favourite!)
4. A Pourover Starter Kit To Become Even More Obsessed
Is there a coffee lover in your life who wants to get started with more specialty coffee methods, but isn’t quite sure where to start?
This pourover kit from Hario is a great way to introduce them to the world of pourovers in a less intimidating way — and to help them make delicious coffee!
5. Cute Coffee Prints for Their Brew Bar
If they already have a cute setup for all their coffee gear, SnaptureThis has the perfect coffee prints to decorate it. Just look at this great types of coffee print!
And if going out to cafes is more their style, why not check out her Toronto Coffee Shops print instead?
Or if you’re more into cafe exteriors, check out this gorgeous print from Casabianca!
6. A Mug Warmer For The Forgetful Coffee Lover
Do I have one of these interesting contraptions? No, but now I want one. (If anyone is getting me a gift… hint hint…)
As someone who needs to heat up their coffee 500 times, this seems like it would be super useful so that I don’t have to run back and forth to the microwave (or drink cold coffee!).
Or, if you want the upgraded version… why not check out the self-heating Ember mug?
You can set it to the perfect temperature so that your coffee is always just right.
7. Coffee-Coloured Bracelets To Accessorize While They Drink
If they like milk in their coffee… why not get them some of these cute bracelets from Ayooni Jewelry to match their drink?
Or maybe they just want ones that they can wear while going out to a cafe — that works too! These gorgeous bracelets are the perfect accessory either way.
8. A Coffee Tasting Journal So They Remember All Their Faves
I actually have this journal — it’s a super unique way to keep track of flavour notes and which coffees I enjoyed the most!
It’s also a great way to help them develop their palate, so they can discover new flavours when they try new coffees.
9. Cute Coffee Mugs to Enjoy Your Coffee In
Having the right mug is key to fully enjoying your coffee — and to taking those perfect photos.
I’m obsessed with the Raspberry Dipped travel mugs from Steaped Slow — perfect to take on long winter walks on lazy winter mornings!
Or if you’re looking for an indoors mug instead, check out Moody Ceramics’ restock on December 5th for some of these adorable mugs! I love the tied handle. (Yes, I don’t have one and I want one. Hint hint.)
10. Some Coffee-Patterned Socks to Keep Their Feet Warm
Want to feel cozy and stylish? Why not pull out some coffee socks?
You can choose these ones with various coffee makers for men or women!
(Or, you know, both.)
Plus, they give you an extra pair of socks to donate to the homeless community whenever you make a purchase so you’re helping them stay warm too!
11. A Coffee-Scented Candle To Help You Relax
Who doesn’t want to be reminded of lazy Sunday mornings to wind down after work?
This candle is perfect for when you want the delicious smell of freshly roasted coffee… but don’t actually feel like drinking it. (Note: I do not actually own this candle, but if someone wants to get it for me, that would be amazing!)
12. Coffee Stickers to Decorate All Their Gear
Looking for a little stocking stuffer, or a way to jazz up your other gifts?
Niche Create has a variety of little coffee worlds printed on stickers, so that everyone can see the recipients’ love for coffee no matter the situation!
She also has coffee-themed pins to decorate bags and jean jackets.
13. Some Holiday-Themed Coffee to Keep Them Cozy
Although many people aren’t fans of flavoured coffee, I say any kind of coffee is good coffee!
If your coffee lover agrees, check out the Daily Grind. They have a variety of roasters on their site, some of which have launched flavoured holiday coffees like this one from Hissing Goose Coffee.
If you’re not as into flavoured coffee, they also have gift baskets with mugs and locally roasted coffee: just select your favourite type of roast and they’ll send you a coffee that you’ll enjoy!
14. A Burr Coffee Grinder to Give Them a Better Coffee Experience
Something that many people might not know when they’re starting out along their coffee journey is that getting the right coffee grinder is very important. (I didn’t know!)
By “right”, I don’t mean a specific brand: I mean rather that it’s important to get one that has burrs rather than blades, so that the beans are ground evenly rather than chopped up.
The Baratza Encore is a good starter coffee grinder: it’s a step up from the usual kitchen grinder that people use, and is one of the least expensive options for burr grinders on the market. It’s not just the cost, either — it’s one of the most popular coffee grinders amongst home baristas, so know that you’re in good company (Note however that it’s not the one I have — keep reading to see that one!)
15. Bake Some Coffee Treats For Them to Enjoy
What’s sweeter than some fresh baked goods? I’m sure most people would appreciate a sweet treat to go along with their coffee, so why not try making something to show your love?
Here are a few great recipes to try (all featuring coffee as an ingredient too, of course):
Cappuchino biscotti to dip into their freshly brewed coffee
Spicy apple galette with coffee glaze — made with chai spice in the crust so it’s great for tea lovers too!
Chocolate pumpkin date cake with chocolate coffee glaze to munch on while catching up over presents
Double chocolate espresso cookies because dark chocolate and coffee are the perfect combo
Coffee banana cake with milk chocolate frosting for everyone who’s still on the quarantine banana bread trend
Or, if you prefer making drinks, try out my pumpkin spice latte recipe for them to drink while they open the rest of their presents!
16. A Manual Espresso Maker To Make Espresso at Home
Did you know there was such a thing as a manual espresso maker?
I didn’t until a few months ago, so now I’m sharing this with you!
A manual espresso maker is basically an espresso machine that doesn’t need to use electricity — instead, you just press very hard on the lever. It takes up less space than your typical espresso maker, and is also portable so you can travel with it. (Plus, it’s less expensive — another important consideration!)
The Flair NEO is one of the most popular on the market due to its ease of use and ability to make great espresso. (Just to be clear: I haven’t tried it, but I’m definitely intrigued.) Note that you’d need to froth and steam the milk separately if you planned on learning how to make latte art, but this kind of machine would be great if you prefer just drinking espresso or you want to make any kind of iced espresso drink like an iced Americano!
17. A Coffee Scale to Weigh Out Their Beans
Another important factor when it comes to making great coffee?
Making sure you have the right coffee-to-water ratio!
And to do that, you need a good scale to measure out your beans and make sure you have the right ratio.
The Hario Coffee Scale is great because it also has a timer, meaning that you can see how fast the coffee is brewing and vary your grind size depending on that as well.
18. A Gift Card to their Favourite Cafe
This year hasn’t been a great one for local businesses… so why not help your coffee lover support their favourite spot?
Most cafes offer gift cards so they can stop by whenever is convenient for them to grab their favourite drinks.
A couple of my faves in Toronto are Found Coffee, Hailed Coffee, and Jacked Up Coffee if you wanted to check out a new spot instead!
(You can also check out my list of Black-owned cafes in Toronto and visit them too.)
19. A Gift Bundle To Keep Them Caffeinated Anywhere
Want to combine a couple of these ideas, and get your coffee lover a travel mug AND coffee? Or coffee AND a pourover kit?
Check out these gift bundles from Kazkara! They’re offering a discount if you buy a couple of products together, so that your coffee lover will be set up and ready to go.
They also have discounts on bundles of coffee and chocolate, coffee and tea, and all sorts of variations, so no matter which type of gift you want to get, you’re sure to see an option on their site.
Another spot that’s offering great gift bundles?
They were one of my favourite cafes when I was in university, so I’m grateful that I can still enjoy their coffee from home now (especially their Nightmare Hippie Girl blend because let’s face it, that’s ME).
You can also get bundles of their coffee or bundles that include an Aeropress so you or your coffee lover can try a new brewing method at home — and they’ll wrap it all nice and cute for you too!
Bonus: A Niche Zero.
If you REALLY love the coffee lover in your life… get them a Niche Zero, aka the Mazerati of coffee grinders!
I am obsessed with mine, because it’s both beautiful and perfectly functional: the best of both worlds. You can use it for both espresso and other types of coffee (many coffee grinders don’t grind fine enough for espresso), it’s quiet, it’s easy to change the grind size… I really can’t recommend it enough, and I’m sure the coffee lovers in your life would agree.
